Honing process finish on quartzite, granite and hard marble slabs

Honing process of granite, quartzite and hard marble slabs – natural stone. Big Graniti Verona, Italy.

Honing of granite, quartzite and hard marble slabs to achieve a uniform surface, ready for further treatment.

The honing process of granite is a surface finishing process that removes unevenness, scratches and imperfections.

It can be an intermediate process (simple degreasing) or a final process (smooth, uniform slab) where it prepares the surface for subsequent treatments such as polishing or wax finishing.

The treatment is carried out with automatic sanding machines equipped with progressively finer-grained abrasive wheels, which ensure uniformity of processing over the entire surface.

In some projects, honing is not merely an intermediate step, but is used as the final finish when a surface is required:

  • Matt or satin;
  • Pleasant to the touch;
  • With a natural look.
